چکیده

In this Paper, the actual presence of a real legitimate trait in contrast to a fake self-manufactured synthetic or reconstructed sample is a significant problem in biometric authentication, which requires the development of new and efficient protection measures. In this paper, we present a novel software-based fake detection method that can be used in multiple biometric systems to detect different types of fraudulent access attempts. The objective of the proposed system is to enhance the security of biometric recognition frameworks, by adding livens assessment in a fast, user-friendly, and non-intrusive manner, through the use of image quality assessment. The proposed approach presents a very low degree of complexity, which makes it suitable for real-time applications, using 25 general image quality features extracted from one image (i.e., the same acquired for authentication purposes) to distinguish between legitimate and impostor samples. The experimental results, obtained on publicly available data sets of fingerprint, iris, and 2D face, show that the proposed method is highly competitive compared with other state-of-the-art approaches and that the analysis of the general image quality of real biometric samples reveals highly valuable information that may be very efficiently used to discriminate them from fake traits.

Liveness Detection for Face Recognition

Biometrics is an emerging technology that enables uniquely recognizing humans based upon one or more intrinsic physiological or behavioral characteristics, such as faces, fingerprints, irises, voices (Ross et al., 2006). However, spoofing attack (or copy attack) is still a fatal threat for biometric authentication systems (Schukers, 2002). Liveness detection, which aims at recognition of human ...

Multimedia Security Spoofing of Digital Image Forensics -3d Face Mask

Biometrics systems have significantly improved person identification and authentication, playing an important role in personal, national, and global security. However, these systems might be deceived (or “spoofed”).The recent advances in spoofing detection, current solutions often rely on S domain knowledge, specific biometric reading systems, and attack types. We assume a very limited knowledg...

Detection and Prevention of Fingerprint Altering / Spoofing Based On Pores (Level-3) With The Help of Multimodal Biometrics

The concept of spoofing focus on altering fingerprint, which become a serious issue concern of fingerprint recognition system. This project work brings a new approach to sense and detect fake fingers, based on the analysis of fingerprint pores and its extraction. Making fake fingerprint now days an open matter for identifying fingerprint systems. In this case submitting an artificial fingerprin...
